Privacy Policy

The short version

Before sign-in, your birth profile stays in this browser. If you sign in, we store it in an encrypted database in the United States. A city search is sent to Google Maps so we can resolve city-level coordinates and historical time-zone rules. Raw birth details are not sent to AI. You can export or delete your account data from the Account screen at any time.

What we collect

Birth details: your birth date (required), your birth time (optional), your birth place (optional, resolved to city-level latitude, longitude, and an IANA time-zone identifier for historical UTC/DST and true-solar-time correction), and your gender (optional, used only because traditional BaZi luck-cycle direction depends on it).

Account details: the email address associated with your sign-in, and the date you created the account.

Content you create in the app: saved forecasts, journal entries, weekly notes, saved compatibility comparisons, and the chart notes that the in-app AI feature searches when you ask it a question.

Usage events: first-party product analytics rows such as which screens you opened and where you stopped, so we can see where the app confuses people.

Payment data: we never receive or store your card number. Our merchant of record processes the payment and returns only a subscription status, a plan name, and a renewal date.

Why we collect it

Birth date and time build the four chart pillars. City determines historical UTC/DST offset and longitude correction. Optional gender affects only the traditional direction of ten-year luck cycles; leaving it blank hides gender-dependent conclusions.

Your email identifies your account and lets us send service notices such as a price change or a receipt.

Usage events are used in aggregate to improve the product. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

Where your data is stored

Your data lives in a Neon Postgres database hosted in the United States. It is encrypted at rest by the database provider and encrypted in transit with TLS.

If you are outside the United States, using the app means your data is transferred to and processed there.

Sub-processors

We use a small number of vendors to run the app. Each one processes only what its function requires.

Neon

Postgres database hosting — stores your account, chart, and saved content.

Vercel

Application hosting and serving — processes requests and server logs.

Hexclave

Authentication — manages sign-in and your email address.

Lemon Squeezy

Merchant of record — processes payments, tax, and receipts.

Google Maps Platform

Place and time-zone lookup — receives the city search, city coordinates, and date-time timestamp needed to return a place and historical UTC/DST rules. It does not receive your account identity from us.

Anthropic

Large language model — generates paid readings and answers in the in-app AI feature.

OpenAI

Text embeddings — indexes your saved chart notes so the in-app AI feature can search them.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open, because the app recomputes from your chart every day.

When you delete your account, we remove your data from our database immediately and permanently. We keep a minimal record that the account identifier was deleted, so the same identifier cannot be reused to restore access.

Our merchant of record keeps its own payment and tax records for the period its law requires. That is outside our control and outside our database.

Deleting your account

Open the Account screen and choose to delete your account, then type DELETE to confirm. The action is permanent and there is no undo.

If you have an active subscription, the app cancels it before deleting anything, so no further charge can occur after your data is gone.

Exporting your data

Open the Account screen and choose to export your data. The app returns a JSON file you can download right away.

The export contains your account email and creation date, your saved birth profile, your subscription status, your saved readings, journal entries, weekly notes, saved compatibility summaries, the notes the in-app AI feature uses, your usage events, and your monthly AI usage totals.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not embed third-party tracking or advertising scripts.

Product analytics are first-party: event rows are written to our own database and are covered by the export and deletion paths above.

Before sign-in, your birth profile and some settings are stored in browser local storage so the app can restore them on that device. Clearing browser data removes that copy. After sign-in, the birth profile is also synchronized to your account database.

Children

The app is not for children under 13. Onboarding computes an age from the birth date entered and blocks account setup below 13.

We do not knowingly collect data from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we delete it.

Your choices

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from the Account screen. Editing your birth details in the app replaces the stored copy and recomputes your chart.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to a data protection authority. Email us and we help you exercise those rights.
